It is a small community that covers a total area of only 0.27 square miles. The town is named after the Rouse family, who were early settlers in the area. Rouseville was once a booming oil town, but the oil wells eventually dried up, and the community has since become more focused on agriculture. The town is home to a few small businesses and a post office. The nearest major cities are Erie, PA and Pittsburgh, PA, both of which are about a two-hour drive from Rouseville.
